1. Move Your Business With These (Brian Thompson)
A cover letter is a critical part of the underwriting process, allowing you to present a more comprehensive and accurate portrait of your client than the application allows. A well-written letter that includes background on a client’s risk factors can help move the application through underwriting. A poorly written cover letter – or none at all – could result in numerous conversations with your underwriter or a quick decline.

2. 12 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do! (Patrick Swayne)

When I think about what can hold people back from reaching their full potential and dreams, a few things definitely come to mind. Here are just a few that have affected us all at one time or another. Please click on the full article for all 12.
·
    • They don’t waste time feeling sorry for themselves.
    • They don’t shy away from change. – This has been an especially hard obstacle for myself as a proud person. Sometimes you have to take a step back to evaluate yourself and make changes accordingly.
    • They don’t worry about pleasing everyone.
    • They don’t expect immediate results. “Nothing worth doing right is easy”- Mike Maheny (current manager of the Cardinals and former MLB player)

3. DOL Update (Adam Thompson)

4. How to Live Without Limits (Brian Thompson)
I found this podcast interview a refreshing perspective full of inspiration. Enjoy!

“Dreams don’t have to manifest as you imagined. They just have to set you on a path because there is always a way.” – Kyle Maynard

5. The 5 “W’s” of children’s life insurance (Adam Thompson)
  1. Who – juveniles from age 0 – 18
  2. What – whole life insurance from one of 4 companies
  3. When – the younger, the better (lower premiums, protection from uninsurable health conditions)
  4. Where – in their resident state, or the state of the person who owns the policy (typically parents or grandparents)
  5. Why – it’s a gift that gives for their entire lives. These products provide a wide range of features, including, but not limited to:
i. Possible cash values that can be used later in life
ii. Guaranteed insurability – this guarantees that your child or grandchild can get additional insurance at future points, regardless of his/her financial or health insurability

Thank you all!
Have an Outstanding Weekend!
